Christine Likam holds the position of Project Support Intern at SOWED Kenya. She joined the organization in June 2019, after her passion for women empowerment, environmental conservation as well as community development, inspired her to apply for the position.
She is the Treasurer, and a Founding Member of the Olosho Environmental Association (OLEA) – a community-based organization operating in Kajiado West, with the aim of fostering environmentally conscious practices through sensitizing the community on environmental conservation.
At SOWED Kenya, Christine is part of the team responsible for the implementation of the Youth First Kenya Project. Her roles include data collection, drafting and preparing documents, report writing, as well as supporting the coordination and implementation of project activities, amongst others.
Christine is a final year undergraduate student at Machakos University, where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Resource Management. At the University, she is also a member of the Machakos University Female Empowerment Program and attends seminars gender-based violence as well as radicalization.
